Re: Has anyone bought a car on finance in the past ten years?
Had a Nissan Micra (2017) on PCP... mainly bought to get me daughter on the road at a cheap price... was paying £185 a month... chucked the car back at them after 3 years... wanted to get a top of the range Qashqai spoke to dealer I got the Micra from... they reckon they could get me a great deal paying around £350 per week... thought fuck that.... spoke to a MATE who had the car I wanted ... he bought it outright through a company called UK cardiscount... spoke to the company...could get the top of the range car that I wanted for £21k (RRP £30k.... same car a year old at the dealership with 5000 miles on it cost £25k)... stuck on mortgage for 12 years... repayments £148 a month... job done... I'll never go near dealerships or PCP ever again...

Re: Has anyone bought a car on finance in the past ten years?
sub prime car finance was a joke. you would go into a showroom and none of the cars had prices on them. the customer was told to have a look round, pick 4 cars they liked, and then they would be quoted the monthly payment on each one.

this payment would be broken down into days to make it sound cheaper. it was only when some people looked at the deal that they realise they had paid 15k for a 10k car, with a huge interest rate.

Penners,

Thanks. If it is GAP insurance, both my PCP were about managing risk and keeping capital vs having manageable monthly costs so I cut the salesperson short on it because I had the money.

Even if I had wanted it , it was much cheaper to obtain privately through price comparison websites.

It's this side of it I think is being looked in to. Basically dealers could set their own rate of interest to frig it in their favour.

I went through a BMW dealership a few years back for a PCP so might give this a go as they were CUNTS.

Needed a car for work but can't get any deals through the company and would have been crazily expensive as on a zero hour contract Thankfully a very good friend stepped in and lent me the money. Bless them
